Prince Koharu Mengsk of the Kingdom of Sol
『 The Mortal Prince 』

Human

『 At First Glance 』
Koharu doesn't look as royalty should - he is not garbed in robes of gold and silver, he does not wear a bejeweled crown upon his head, and he does not carry a sword at his waist. Rather, he wears civilian clothing and hides all evidence of his royalty - even the Ring of Sovereignty that was placed upon his hand from birth. He describes these actions as "attempting to reel myself down to terra firma," since it seems that his opinion is that many princes held themselves in the light of gods. Normally seen in a pair of cargo jeans and some sort of baseball undershirt, many people mistake him for a newcomer who looks strangely like the prince, since he doesn't appear to be a native of Symphonia. They also take the Royal Healing Staff of the Magi Koharu chose as his weapon when he was ten as a sort of item of importance, and leave it at that. Koharu has brown hair, styled in very much the same way as his mother's - a wavy ponytail behind gentle curls and wisps of bangs across the eyes - and eyes like his father's - stern, cold gray eyes that seem hostile at first glance. Koharu is shorter than most people his age, with William being shorter than him by a hair, and seems average, but trim, in build.

『 Generous, Compassionate, Gentle, Helping 』
In stark contrast to William's boastful and combative attitude, or Carson's distrusting and hardened nature, Koharu is soft at heart and is said to have hands crafted from the purest souls. He is very friendly, to the point of outrageous properties, and will let even the biggest cutthroat bile of a human being live, when their actions would normally demand death. In one case, when a group of disruptive teenage boys broke a young girl's locket depicting an image of her recently deceased mother, Koharu used his magic to repair the locket, and even hugged the girl warmly, as he couldn't stand the tears. As a parting comment to the child, he told her that her mother sat always on her shoulder, smiling. Because of his saintly nature, Koharu is adored and praised by all his subjects - even the worst of the worst.

『 Weapons of choice 』
Koharu is an odd-one-out in his immediate family, in that instead of being born by the blade, as his father, sister, and grandfather had been, he was born by the Staff, as his mentor and brother, Jonae, had been. While Jonae chose a more combative staff - a three-part staff that could become nunchaku, billy clubs, and even a spear - Koharu chose a simple, self-crafted magician's staff that was imbued with healing and repairing magics.

『 Once upon a time... 』
In Koharu's entire family, there are only three or four people like him, and that includes him. Those people are his mother, who was born under the Wand, his cousin, Augusto, who was born under the Whip, his brother, Jonae, who was born under the Staff, and Koharu, himself, who was also born under the Staff. Because of this, these four people are especially close, Jonae acting as Koharu's teacher outside of school, Augusto acting as Koharu's moral support and battle companion, and the Queen acting as his moral instructor, teaching him the ways of proper etiquette and grace, while encouraging him to place a more brotherly love into his personality. For this, William's family often regards Koharu as a wimp, or even a weakling, while Carson tends to regard Koharu as a softie, and the Royal Knights who protect the Royal Family think of him as a pansy. But, these words tend to fall on deaf ears when it comes to Koharu.
Once again, his title refers to his preference to keep a human standpoint on things. It's a sort of hidden-meaning thing.

EDIT: You know how sometimes you write something and go to write something else while still thinking of that one thing, and suddenly write your thoughts in place of what you were trying to write?

I did that like, maybe five times.

Koharu's mother was born under the WAND, not the SPEAR.

Only Koharu's father, sister and grandfather were born under the blade, NOT HIS MOTHER.

God, I'm such a tard.
